News Announcement Monday 26th May 2008 Danny Scott (United Baits) blitzed the match with 195lbs fishing shallow with pellet. 2nd Paul Gallagher 152.04lb The TOP 10 in this match weighed 1200lbs. The 5 hour match record still stands at 226lb. Tuesday 25th May 2008 Dave Pollitt’s incredible 145.08lbs catch on cat food in a 3 hour evening match from peg 34. This is a new evening match record – well done Dave. There have been some brilliant catches of ide on maggot, Oliver Hewitt, the Spring Series Winner, caught 80lbs of ide to 1.5lb. This was not quite the record though it still stands at 98lbs – all ide also. Best baits - Pleasure Fishing Pleasure anglers are catching 40 – 50 carp from 3lb to 10lb on floating baits ie dog biscuits and bread. Best Baits - Match Fishing The best baits in matches for silver fish is maggot and worm and the best for carp at present is luncheon meat or cat meat feeding 2 or 3 lines. Pleasure angler, Paul Cook fishing with a float rod and waggler and floating bread caught 47 carp from 3lb to 7lb for a terrific days fishing from peg 33. 14 July 2007 9 June 2007 Dave Pollitt (Hirst Tackle) won the Spring Series with 15 points with a weight of 556.6lbs.
